Carl Holborn

Carl Holborn is a lifelong Kenosha resident and an Attorney at Wokwicz Law Offices, LLC. His practice focuses on estate planning, business succession planning, tax advice and planning, probate and trust administration, and general business advice. Carl brings a strong technical foundation in tax law, and a thoughtful, practical approach to helping individuals, families, and businesses navigate complex legal and financial matters. Carl’s clients include individuals, fiduciaries, beneficiaries, and business owners across a wide range of industries and professions.

Over the course of more than twenty-five years of practicing law, Carl has earned respect and appreciation from both his colleagues and clients for his clear thinking and approachable manner. Carl is particularly skilled at identifying tax-efficient solutions and explaining sophisticated legal issues in a way that enables clients to make informed and confident decisions.

Carl has significant experience with complex estate planning and administration matters, including plans for high-net-worth individuals and families, real estate-heavy estates, and closely held businesses. His work includes assisting with probate and trust administration, representing beneficiaries and fiduciaries in contested matters, supporting charitable planning objectives, and helping families preserve assets through effective planning and dispute resolution.

Carl is active in a number of professional and community organizations. He is a Fellow of the Wisconsin Law Foundation and Board Member for Root-Pike Watershed Initiative Network, Inc. (“Root Pike WIN”). He has previously held board and leadership positions with the Society of Financial Service Professionals, Kenosha County Civil Service Commission, Women and Children’s Horizons, the Kenosha Historical Society, and was the Past Chairman of the State of Wisconsin Elections Board.

Carl earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Wisconsin School of Law, graduating cum laude. While attending the University of Wisconsin School of Law, he served as an Editor of the Wisconsin Law Review. He earned a Master of Science in Taxation from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. He also earned a Master’s Degree in History from Marquette University.

He and his wife reside in Somers. His interests include: trekking, travel, rugby, history, land conservation, and reading.
